Small teams rarely need a signing "programme". They need three or four documents signed reliably, without paying enterprise prices or spending a week on rollout. This is a practical order of operations.
Start with the documents that block money or hiring
List everything you currently print, and keep only the items that delay revenue or onboarding: a proposal or service agreement, an NDA, an offer letter, a client intake form. Those four cover most small businesses. Everything else can wait until the first ones are working.
Prepare each one properly, once
Upload the PDF, review the fields Sign10X detects, fix the ones it got wrong, and add anything missing. Then save it as a template. From that point on, sending it is picking the template, typing a name and email, and pressing send. The Sign10X template library gives you a starting point if you do not have a document yet — with the caveat that templates are general business documents, not legal advice.
Decide who sends and who signs on your side
Even in a five-person company it is worth agreeing this. Owners and admins can manage templates and billing; members send; viewers can look without changing anything. Sign10X keeps everything inside one organization with those roles, so you are not sharing a login.
Keep the cost predictable
Count how many documents you actually send in a normal month, then add a busy month. Most small businesses land under 70, which is the Starter plan at $9.99 a month; heavier senders move to Business at $19.99 for 200. If you send only a handful, the free plan's five envelopes a month may be enough indefinitely. Yearly billing takes 20% off. Full detail is on Sign10X pricing.
Make signing easy for your customers
- Keep the document short and mark only genuinely required fields as required.
- Send to one signer at a time when approvals must happen in order.
- Set a sensible expiration, then use reminders instead of resending.
- Test on a phone — a large share of signers will be on one.
Keep the records where you can find them
When a document completes, download both the signed PDF and its audit trail, and file them wherever your executed agreements live. The trail is what answers "did they really sign this?" a year later. How Sign10X stores and isolates those files is described on the security page.
Automate later, not first
Once the manual flow is reliable and you know which documents repeat, connecting the e-signature API to your CRM or onboarding tool is a small job — and API access is included on every paid plan, so it does not force a tier upgrade.
